“The garden is a mirror of the heart.” – Francis Bacon

Consultation and Commission
Jon will provide a bespoke service to meet most requirements. This ranges from an initial on site consultation aimed at the private householder looking for inspiration; to a full design, planning and implementation service for the larger private estates and commercial projects.

Initial consultation
If you are having problems with your garden layout or are starting afresh, an initial consultation can be arranged. This may involve preparing an accurate survey to a specific scale and setting aside as much as a full day for Jon to visit the site, be primed of the objectives of the design and any limitations and then working through with the client to produce a sketch master plan of the whole garden or specific problem areas. The sketch is reworked back at Jon’s design studio and then sent to the client with information on purchasing and sourcing plants and materials. If the scheme is large and complicated, then it is possible for Jon to quote for further input at this stage.

Larger Projects
For larger schemes Jon offers a complete range of services from sketch plans through detailed drawings, construction details, planting plans and specifications to checking contractors work on site and production of maintenance schedules as required. Jon has a great deal of experience in presenting landscape proposals to local planning authorities to obtain the necessary permissions and licenses. This is a service that is valued highly by property developers.

Fees
As nobody likes surprises Jon is keen to agree his fees at the start of any project. Fees are based on the level of work and involvement required with any travel costs and other disbursements clearly highlighted. For larger projects, Jon is happy to have an initial meeting on site to discuss the project and the level of his involvement. Unless a large amount of traveling is involved, these initial meetings are usually free of charge.
