About Us
English Landscapes is an environmental planning and development consultancy encompassing landscape design, construction and maintenance. Whilst based on Vashon Island we work throughout the whole Puget Sound region.
The company is owned exclusively and operated by Jon Crouch. Born and raised in Liverpool, England in 1960’s, Jon grew up in the wake of the Beatles, and has been passionate about gardening from an early age.
As both an accomplished professional Chartered City Planner and a fully qualified horticulturalist, Jon has proven to be both adaptable and dynamic. He has an extensive theoretical and practical working knowledge of plants, their habitats, strengths and limitations when used to enhance and complement the built environment. Jon is a firm believer and committed to the concept and philosophy of “responsive environments” with a people and community-centered approach.
Jon is a fervent (some may even say ranting) environmentalist and whenever practical builds in the concept of earth first living into his daily family life. He is also a committed believer in low impact development, not only at the physical levels of bespoke projects, but equally so at the community and societal level.
Jon strives to be as sustainable as possible in all aspects of life both personally and professionally.
